Oh, the Monday blues. Every Monday the same thing. Of course it begins on Sunday, otherwise called "the day of mourning." I mean, where's the joy in knowing Monday is just lurking at the fringes? Well, I've thought about this long and hard and have come to a few decisions. One is that yes, the start of the work week is a matter of mental adjustment, a realization that the weekend in whatever form it took is now past. Okay. So what's the big deal then? A mental adjustment, meaning it's all subjective, ultimately meaning it's a matter of perspective. Complaint and lament has become a national pastime, one which the media is all too ready and thrilled to exploit. That is another issue in itself. But this blue Monday thing is really a simple mattter true adjustment of the menally uplifting variety. Monday, any day for that matter, is another chance to experience the joy and wonder of being alive. Considering the alternative, not a bad choice. So in short it's all self directed, self appointed, self perpetuating. View the world and each day with the open eyes of childhood wonder and the perceived problems dissipate like so much fog. I see, said the blind man. Message to self: wake up, look around, move forward and smile, it's good for the attitude and, most importantly, the soul. In one swift motion the clouds vanish and the clear sight of real and entire life appreciation takes hold. Hey, it's Monday! A great day to be alive!!
